What is the difference between factor 30 and factor 50
Factor 30 and factor 50 are both sunscreens with varying degrees of protection against UVB rays. UVB rays are responsible for sunburn and skin cancer.
A sunscreen with an SPF of 30 offers protection against 97% of UVB rays, while a sunscreen with an SPF of 50 offers protection against 98% of UVB rays. This means that a sunscreen with an SPF of 50 offers slightly more protection than a sunscreen with an SPF of 30. SPF of 50 is recommended for children and people with fair skin.
However, the difference in protection between SPF 30 and SPF 50 isn't as great as it seems. It's more important to reapply sunscreen regularly and use it sufficiently than to focus on the difference between SPF 30 and SPF 50.
Theoretical protection: A sunscreen with SPF 30 should theoretically offer 30 times the normal protection against sunburn, and SPF 50 should offer 50 times the normal protection against sunburn. This means that if your skin were to burn after 10 minutes without protection, the SPF 30 sunscreen should theoretically offer 300 minutes of protection, and an SPF 50 should offer 500 minutes.
Files for your own dispenser design can be found here
It's fun when you choose your own design!
We've created templates for you to use as a basis for your designs.
You can download the templates here:
Factor 30 dispenser:
https://hiphot.nl/templates/dispenser_templates_spf30.zip
Factor 50 dispenser:
https://hiphot.nl/templates/dispenser_templates_spf50.zip
The zip file contains templates for the dispenser. Examples are also included.
What to take into account:
- format as CMYK
- convert all layers to curves/contours
- supply as PDF for printing (300 dpi) without crop marks
- The blue outlines for cutting are in the file (named Thru-cut) ; leave that layer active and don't edit it. It will be disabled by the printer.
- Place your design in a folder within the layout file named ARTWORK. NOTE! The cutting lines should not be in this folder. They will remain separate.
- On the right side, we include a QR code (Dutch or English) so users can scan it for the ingredients in sunscreen.
- The word 'waterproof' may only be used with an English text; if it is in the Netherlands, it must state: Water-resistant (legally established)
- Advice to mention: SPF 30 or 50 (depending on which one is ordered), UVA and UVB protection, suitable for children from 6 months
After you order the dispenser with your own design , you'll receive an email from us asking you to submit the design. This email will also include the information above.
We're curious about your design! We'll review it and send you a PDF proof if any changes are needed.
Printing, gluing, and lead time:
Once the order goes into production, the design is sent to the printer to print the stickers. After printing, the dispensers are manually fitted with the stickers. We collaborate with an organization where people with intellectual disabilities apply the stickers to the dispensers. They are very happy with this, as it allows them to participate in the working community. After approval of the designs, the delivery time is usually 10 business days.
If you have any questions, please let us know!
Is the sunscreen suitable for children?
The sunscreen is suitable for children from 6 months.
Keep babies and young children out of direct sunlight and wear protective clothing. Do not rub the cream into the eyes.
How long does sunscreen last?
The sunscreen we supply has a shelf life of 24 months when unopened. Once opened, it has a shelf life of 12 months.
The sunscreen cartridges we supply have a cap to close the nozzle. We recommend storing this cap and replacing it when the sunscreen isn't being used for a while.
What does SPF stand for and is it the same as factor?
SPF stands for Sun Protection Factor. This is a measure of the level of protection a sunscreen provides against UVB rays that cause skin burns. The SPF number indicates how long someone can stay in the sun without burning compared to the time it would take to burn without sunscreen. For example, if someone without sunscreen burns after 10 minutes in the sun, then someone wearing an SPF 30 sunscreen could stay in the sun for approximately 300 minutes (10x30) without burning. However, it's important to remember that SPF only measures protection against UVB rays, not against UVA rays, which can contribute to skin aging and skin cancer. Therefore, it's always important to use a broad-spectrum sunscreen that offers protection against both UVB and UVA rays.
Can we buy on account?
That's certainly possible. We're working with Billie on this . They process the payment for us.
We invoice and deliver, and payment is made to Billie. They perform a credit check at checkout. Additional information may be requested.
If the payment is not approved, please contact us to discuss the options.
What are the payment options?
We offer the following payment methods:
- iDeal
- Credit cards
- Bank/SEPA (prepayment by bank)
- Bancontact
- On account
Can the dispensers remain outside?
Our dispensers are weatherproof. The durable 3M sticker on the back of the dispenser is also weatherproof. However, we do recommend taking the dispenser indoors during the winter. You can remove the front cover and sunscreen, leaving the back cover on if necessary.
We use high-quality, long-lasting stickers, but they may discolor or fade due to weathering. We can always send you new stickers if needed.
What is the best place to hang a dispenser?
Place the dispenser in a visible location so that visitors know they can protect themselves from harmful UV rays.
Sunscreen can dry out, so we recommend not placing the dispenser in direct sunlight.
Can you refill sunscreen?
The dispensers can be refilled with our sunscreen cartridges. These cartridges are not refillable. The reasons for this are:
- It may react with the cream present, causing skin irritation.
- Scanning the QR code on the dispenser reveals the ingredients. These may not match what's in the dispenser. This can be very inconvenient for medical applications, such as consulting a doctor if sunscreen is swallowed or gets into the eyes.
- If a lower SPF factor is used than stated on the dispenser, this may lead to burning.
- The shelf life cannot be checked.
- HIPHOT cannot guarantee the quality of the cream.
Can you refill the sunscreen dispensers?
Yes, that's definitely possible. We've chosen the easiest system on the market.
The sunscreen we supply comes in 1-liter or 0.5-liter cartridges. The advantage of our cartridges is that the nozzle is attached. This means you don't have to change the nozzle, preventing your hands from getting covered in sunscreen. Ideal for quick changes and more hygienic. Another advantage is that the nozzle doesn't get clogged. Sunscreen dries out if it's not used for a while, so the advantage of our cream is that the nozzle doesn't get clogged.
Watch our video here to see how to change the refill in just 10 seconds.

Printing, gluing, and turnaround time:
Once the order goes into production, the design is sent to the printer to print the stickers. After printing, the dispensers are manually fitted with the stickers. We collaborate with an organization where people with intellectual disabilities apply the stickers to the dispensers. They are very happy with this, as it allows them to participate in the working world. After approval of the designs, the delivery time is usually 7-10 business days.

What are the ingredients of the sunscreen?
HIPHOT offers two different types of sunscreen for dispensers: SPF 30 and SPF 50. These have different ingredients. See the different formulas below.
Comments:
Applying an insufficient amount of product reduces the protective effect. Excessive sun exposure is a serious health risk. Even sunscreen with a high SPF does not provide complete protection against UV rays and is not a substitute for personal protective equipment and clothing. Avoid excessive UV exposure. Keep babies and young children out of direct sunlight and wear protective clothing. Do not rub the cream into the eyes.

You also need to apply sunscreen when it's cloudy
Yes, it's important to wear sunscreen even on cloudy days. While the sun may not feel as intense as on a sunny day, UV rays can still penetrate clouds and damage your skin. Even on cloudy days, UV exposure can lead to sunburn and long-term skin damage. That's why it's important to wear sunscreen daily, regardless of the weather.
